The following rules apply to tournaments at Maverick Poker. We strive to be transparent and fair in the best interests of the game. Any decision we make will be based on the fairness of everyone involved. In special circumstances, we will use that viewpoint over the technical rules. Please read below for a full list of the tournament rules:
General
1. All tournaments will begin at a scheduled time that is stated in the tournament lobby. Maverick Poker reserves the right to delay, reschedule or cancel a tournament without prior notice.
2. To view important tournament information such as blind structures, blind levels (in minutes), the format of the tournament itself and any guaranteed prize can be seen in the tournament lobby. If you wish to view any particular tournament please double-click again within the lobby and it will open up the internal tournament lobby with all the information. Maverick Poker reserves the right to change any of these fields without prior notice.
3. Each player will be randomly assigned their seat. We don’t allow players to change seats during a tournament. Throughout a tournament whilst players register or bust, players may be moved/re-seated to another table to balance the number of players at each table.
4. Late registration will be available in the majority of tournaments that we offer. To view the time a tournament allows registration, you will find this information within each tournament lobby. If a tournament has reached the money before late registration was scheduled to close then registration will close instantly and gameplay will continue.
5. Players will be able to see the final prize payout structure once a tournament has closed late registration. Only then will the prize pool be final.
6. Players have the option to unregister to any tournament as long as the ‘seating’ of players has not started. If you choose to unregister, you will receive the full buy-in back in the currency that you paid with. (currently only accepting USDT and USDC on Maverick Poker)
7. Player chat will be accessible throughout the tournament. Players may not discuss an ongoing hand. Any chat that influences the hand in play could result in penalties such as exclusion from the tournament, any winnings forfeited and possible account closure for repeat offenders. Any report will be fully investigated by the Maverick Poker security team.
8. The dealer button will be randomly selected by our algorithm at the start of each tournament.
9. A tournament is played until one player accumulates all the chips in play. Players can’t purchase additional chips unless stated otherwise. When a player loses all their chips, they will be out of the tournament. If a tournament has a re-entry feature, then players may register again as if they were a new player to that tournament.
10. If more than one player is eliminated in a hand, the player with more chips at the start of the hand will be ranked higher.
11. Every tournament will have a five minute break at 55 minutes past each hour. The break starts when the clock strikes 55 minutes past and will restart once the five minutes has passed. Players should be ready to start playing again at this time.
Maverick Poker reserves the right to amend these terms to the cancellation policy without any prior notice. We will always have the best interests of the players when making any decision.
By playing at Maverick Poker, players accept full responsibility for their own internet service and hardware. There are some cases that certain countries or regions have ISP (internet service provider) issues which Maverick Poker takes no responsibility for. We will however listen to players who have experienced this and evaluate case by case. All decisions made by Maverick Poker will be final.
In the unlikely event that Maverick Poker have internet or server issues on our side and tournaments need to be cancelled as full service can’t be restored we will compensate in the following ways: (please note that Maverick Poker will try and restore services for one hour before taking the decision to cancel and refund) All refunds will be distributed within 72 hours of the time cancellations took place.
1. Tournaments in late registration:
If any tournament is in late registration we have two different options to determine what method of compensation will be given. We believe this to be the fairest for everyone involved, we will split late registration into two parts. The first half and the second half:
- If a tournament has 60 minutes of late registration and issues occur within the first 30 minutes (the first half) we will cancel and refund as if the tournament had never been played. Every single entry will be refunded as well as the tournament fee in the currency that was used to buy in. (currently only accepting USDT on Maverick Poker)
- If there are issues after 30 minutes (the second half of late registration) we will refund the prize pool at the time of suspension. Guarantees will not be honoured if a tournament doesn’t make it out of late registration.
Players that have busted won't receive a refund. All players that remain will receive their chip stack equity in whatever currency used to buy-in and their tournament fee.
If the tournament is a knockout format, players will be refunded their bounty fee and any bounties already won.
There may be a discrepancy between when issues start and the time of suspension. The tournament team will determine the fairest possible solution and all decisions are final.
2. Tournaments out of late registration but not yet in the money:
Maverick Poker will honour all guaranteed amounts unless we are unable to suspend the tournament in sufficient time. This is a very rare scenario to arise. but if we determine that there were for example 20 minutes left of late registration, but servers have issues and we can’t suspend, we will revert to the second half term of tournaments in late registration. Again the decision will be assessed by the Maverick Poker tournament team and all decisions will be final.
Any tournament that has moved into ‘running’ state but hasn't reached the minimum payout - players will receive the following:
- Those who have been eliminated will not receive any compensation.
- All remaining players will be evenly distributed 50% of the prize pool. The other 50% will be distributed by chip count equity. Players will also receive their tournament fee.
If the tournament is a knockout format, players will be refunded their bounty fee and any bounties already won.
3. Tournaments that are in the money:
Any tournament that’s cancelled while ‘in the money’ - players will receive the following:
- Those who have been eliminated will not receive any compensation.
- All remaining players will receive the next minimum payout amount. The rest of the prize pool will be distributed by chip count equity. Players will also receive their tournament fee.
If the tournament is a knockout format, players will be refunded their bounty fee and any bounties already won.
4. Satellite tournaments:
Any satellite tournament that is cancelled whilst in late registration will receive the following:
- Everyone that has participated will be refunded their buy-in and fee. This includes all players who have been eliminated prior to late registration ending.
For any satellite tournament that is cancelled once it has moved into ‘running’ state - players will receive the following:
- Those who have been eliminated will not receive any compensation.
- As satellites are usually paid out in the form of a tournament ticket or tournament vouchers, Maverick Poker will take the value of all prizes and convert them into a currency. This amount will be distributed to all remaining players by chip count equity. Players will also receive their tournament fee.
5. Sit & Go’s (SNG’S)
Any Sit & Go that is cancelled - players will receive the following:
- If no one has been eliminated, everyone will receive their buy-in and fee. It will be as if the SNG had never been played.
- If one or more players have been eliminated, we will distribute the prize pool by chip count equity to those remaining.
- Players remaining will also receive their tournament fee.
