Our soccer expert shares betting tips and previews some of the key games across the mainland European continent happening tonight with powerhouses AC Milan and PSG in action.

Monaco vs PSG (Friday 20:00 UTC)

Les Monegasques host Paris Saint-Germain at Stade Louis I, in this Ligue 1 clash. The hosts are chasing an elusive first win on home soil for 2024, while the away team continue their unrivalled title campaign. Monaco moved back into Champions League qualification thanks to a clutch 3-2 victory at Lens, while the league leaders remain unbeaten this calendar year, snagging a late goal themselves to draw 1-1 versus Rennes.

Monaco has been like a seesaw in domestic proceedings since their campaign recommenced in 2024, going from good to bad in rapid succession. Adi Hutter's men have not won consecutive matches in Ligue 1 since December 2023 and worryingly have not enjoyed a win in their last four domestic affairs played at Stade Louis II. The Principality club nabbed a late winner in stoppage time to climb back into third place, compliments of winger Takumi Minamino. The Japanese international has enjoyed a solid season thus far with five goals and six assists to his name. The positive result places the club a point above their arch-rivals Nice and two behind Brest for second. Optimistically for their next bout, Les Rouge et Blanc have scored in nine successive matches in all competitions. Both Teams to Score - Yes at 1.487.

In one of the grittiest performances from the table leaders this season, Les Parisiens kept fighting until the bitter end, ultimately collecting a single point thanks to a 97th-minute strike last weekend. They can be disappointed with only one point and a goal as they dominated with 66% possession and 15 shots. The hero of the hour was Portuguese international Gonçalo Ramos, who has been on loan from Benfica since the summer. His worth has been invaluable in the clubs' ambitions and has prompted them to enact a forthcoming £43 million transfer at the season's end. This draw extends the Capitols side's unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to a remarkable 18 matches, their longest streak without a defeat in this competition since opening the 2018-19 campaign with at least a point in their first 22 encounters under then-manager Thomas Tuchel. Correct Score 1-2 to PSG at 9.68

The visitors are easily the favourites here, even though they have not come away with three points in the Principality since January 2020, they ended a three-match winless run versus Les Monegasques earlier this season, claiming a 5-2 triumph at the Parc des Princes. However, this won't be a cakewalk as Monaco has had impressive results versus PSG, winning three successive top-flight encounters against them at home, scoring three times every time. Though with their shaky form, they'll have to work hard to shut Les Rouges-et-Bleus out.

Lazio vs AC Milan (Friday 19:45 UTC)

I Biancocelesti will host Rossoneri in Rome in what has been a competitive year for teams across the Serie A table. The hosts will be looking for a positive result to springboard into the new week as they face Bayern Munich in the Champions League, while Milan look to pile on the pressure on 2nd-place Juventus and extend the gap between them and 4th-place Bologna to ensure qualification to Europe's topflight competition next year. Ultimately for all teams, the Scudetto is long out of reach as Internazionale have utterly dominated this year in Italian football.

Lazio continued their rollercoaster ride of inconsistent form by falling afoul of table rivals Fiorentina 2-1 last weekend. Since their Supercoppa tragedy at the hands of Nerazzurri, Lazio have only won three of their last seven matches, and now as they sit precariously above mid-table, the rest of the season match results will be pivotal in dictating how their season will conclude. Their latest three defeats were against the aforementioned La Viola, as well as Atalanta BC and Bologna, with the results particularly damaging, as these teams are also hustling to break into the top four. Last year's champions Napoli decimated Sassuolo 6-1 midweek, and the result means both teams are tied with 40 points apiece.

Realistically, only the Europa League or Conference would be an attainable ask at this point. Optimistic fans will relate to naysayers of the 4-0 drumming they gave Milan at the Stadio Olimpico last season, however, the broad 13-point gap in points between these two opponents is a sobering reminder of the current reality. Critical to garnering some future positive headlines in the capital over the season has been veteran Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson, who has enjoyed an appearance in every Serie A outing for Le Aquile this season contributing six assists and three goals to his team's efforts. Total - Match Over 2.5 at 2.14.

Milan has dropped the ball in form lately, with the latest fumble a meagre 1-1 to La Dea at the San Siro, an opponent who has already bested them twice this season, Stefano Pioli will lament how they let the game slip between their fingers after Rafael Leao's sumptuous goal in the 3rd minute of play only for it to be cancelled out by a 42nd-minute penalty from Teun Koopmeiners. Domestic woes aside the club can take away a positive from continental affairs as they marched past French outfit 3-5 on aggregate. Fans and players can now look forward to hosting Czech stalwarts Slavia Prague on the 7th of March in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16. Correct score 2-2 at 16.52.

They must gain some momentum in the league as they have only taken one point from their last two games. Three points here will help cement their position in the top four as we approach the home straight of a brutal season, and they will need to keep their wits about them to bridge the gap further from teams like Bologna and Atalanta in particular. Another loss will be costly not only to their table position after losing their last league encounter 4-2 to Monza the week before but also to the dressing room morale. Pipped for AC Milan player of the year, Olivier Giroud now has twelve goals and eight assists to his name. His participation will be crucial in this encounter as the Serbian international striker Luka Jović will be omitted due to a red card two weeks prior.

Lazio has a great opportunity here to capitalise on Milano's rocky form with home advantage and three points would shunt themselves upwards in the table nicely. However, victory will be a stern test as Rossoneri will no doubt find their footing once more after another wobble in the league - it'll be a close encounter!
